RICK O’BRIEN Managing Director

Mr. O'Brien has worked at Hersh Family Investments since 2019. From 2014 – 2018, Rick led private equity investments at M Terry Enterprises. From 1995 – 2014, Rick owned and/or operated several companies in manufacturing, distribution, home services and mortgage servicing. Rick serves on the Board of Directors of Vinli, a leader in fleet management and risk solutions, and is a director at Liberty Capital Bank. Rick serves on the advisory board of Blue Drake Capital, a medical office real estate investment fund and Veteran Ventures Capital, a venture capital fund focused on veteran owned and/or operated companies focused on security, logistics and aerospace.  Rick recently served on the advisory board of W North Funds I, II and III, all private oil and gas investment funds, UT Southwestern President’s Advisory Board and as a Trustee of the Hockaday School. From 1991 to 1995 Rick was employed by Texas Instruments where he was a project manager in the corporate development group focusing on acquisitions and divestitures. Prior to Texas Instruments, Rick was an assistant vice president of NCNB (now Bank of America), where he was a corporate lender. Rick graduated with a BA from Vanderbilt University in 1986 and an MBA from Rice University in 1991. Rick is married to Caroline and has four daughters.
